Meet the Team

Throughout Maggie’s early years she gained many qualifications in Health & Social Care which led to a promotion to Deputy Manager in 2016. After further studying for Management & Leadership qualifications in December 2018, she took on the Manager’s role. Maggie is now our Home Manager, she has a great insight to the health and wellbeing of her residents, staff and their workload due to her starting at ground level. Maggie’s knowledge and understanding of our residents and the home allows her to advise and support so that the best possible care is given to residents and equally to the support of her staff.

Lynne has 31 years’ experience as a nurse and has worked in healthcare for 35 years. Lynne has a genuine passion for working with the elderly and loves making a difference in their lives. She sees residents as extended family and enjoys spending time getting to know them and hearing their life stories. Lynne believes that understanding each person helps her provide the best possible person-centred care, supporting residents to feel comfortable, valued, and able to enjoy life to the fullest.

Nicolle has 10 years of experience as a Nurse and has always worked in Care Homes for the elderly. Nicolle is passionate about residents receiving a high standard of care and providing support to the staff team to develop their skills and knowledge.

Eryn has 18 years of experience in Administrator roles and is passionate about ensuring residents and families are provided with relevant information to ensure the move into the home goes smoothly for the residents and families.

Alan has been a chef for 20 years and is passionate about ensuring our residents are provided with a health well balanced diet and likes to spend time with our residents getting to know their favourite food to ensure our menu creator for everyone.

Frank has 20 years of experience in maintenance within Care Homes. Frank enjoys working in the care home environment getting to know the residents and being able to provide them with a safe environment to live in.

Lynn has over 20 years of experience working with the elderly within a care home environment and the community delivering person-centred activities to suit individual residents’ interests and hobbies. Lynn is passionate about residents living a good life and supports them to take part in daily activities through 1-2-1 and group activities while creating positive connections with the community to ensure her residents have fun while living an enriched and happy life. We are all about having fun!

Liberty has been a nurse for 32 years and has worked in Scotland as a nurse for 20 years. Liberty is passionate about working with the elderly. Residents are like her own family, and she enjoys learning about their live stories to build a good relationship to provide the best person-centred care to her residents, ensuring they get the best out of life.

Nicola has been a nurse for 16 years and has 8 years of experience working as a nurse within care homes. Nicola enjoys getting to know her residents, and learning about their lives to be able to provide person-centred care is important.

Primrose has just qualified as a nurse in 2024. Primrose loves to care for people and as a nurse she can give back and ensure peoples needs are being met and they are treated with dignity and respect.

Scott has recently achieved his nursing qualification after spending several years working as a Senior Carer in care homes. He is enjoying the transition into his nursing role and embracing the new responsibilities. Getting to know residents on an individual level is very important to Scott, as he is committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

Lorraine has been working in the nursing/ care profession for over 40 years. Lorraine enjoys being hands-on and loves to help people and spend time to getting to know each individual person to support them best to live an independent life.

Caitlin has transitioned to the role of a care assistant over the past year after previously training and working as a paramedic. Her background has helped shape her caring approach, particularly in understanding individual needs, responding to changes in health, and supporting others with empathy and professionalism. Caitlin enjoy building positive relationships with her residents, their families and her staff team using her experience to provide high-quality, person-centred care.

Natasha has over 14 years’ experience working in care, having supported individuals both within care home settings and in the community. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong understanding of delivering highquality, compassionate care tailored to individual needs.

Natasha has recently stepped into the role of Senior Carer and is thoroughly enjoying the increased responsibilities this position brings. She is keen to continue developing her skills and expanding her knowledge to enhance the care she provides. Natasha is passionate about promoting residents’ independence, supporting them to thrive, maintain their confidence, and achieve the best possible quality of life.

Claire has over 20 years experience working within the care sector and is passionate about supporting her residents to live happy and fulfilling lives. She finds great satisfaction in seeing others thrive and enjoys assisting residents with all aspects of their daily living. Claire places a strong emphasis on providing highquality, personcentred care, taking the time to understand each individual’s needs, preferences, and routines. She understands the importance of attention to detail in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued, and she takes pride in delivering care that is both compassionate and respectful.

Jennifer takes great pride in her role as a Care Assistant and consistently demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment in her work. She is eager to continue learning, developing her skills, and progressing both her role and level of responsibility. Jennifer has a genuine passion for care and shows a strong interest in learning about residents’ past lives, including their hobbies, interests, and previous occupations, which she uses to build meaningful relationships and deliver person-centred care. She works to a consistently high standard and actively promotes residents’ independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Amy gained valuable experience working in care earlier in her career before moving into the retail industry. She has recently returned to the care sector, where she has rediscovered her passion for supporting others. Amy thoroughly enjoys her role and has shown a strong commitment to learning, developing her skills, and progressing within her position.

Kasigh is new to her role in care and is already showing great commitment and enthusiasm as a Care Assistant. Having grown up learning about care from her mum, who also works within the sector, Kasigh has gained a strong understanding of the importance of compassion, respect, and supporting others.

She has adapted well to her role and consistently demonstrates the company’s values by being kind, caring, and passionate about the residents she supports. Kasigh takes pride in building positive relationships with residents ensuring they feel valued.

Kasigh is keen to continue expanding her knowledge and experience within her role and is enthusiastic about developing her skills to provide the highest standard of care.

Shanice is at the beginning of her career as a Care Assistant and is enthusiastic about developing her skills and experience within the care sector. She has a genuine passion for helping others and takes great pride in making a positive difference to residents’ days, no matter how small.

Shanice enjoys supporting residents with kindness, compassion, and respect, and finds her role rewarding as she builds relationships and contributes to their comfort, happiness, and wellbeing.

Sandra has over 12 years’ experience working as a carer and continues to thoroughly enjoy her role within the care sector. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a high standard of care, always striving to support residents with dignity, kindness, and respect.

Sandra is passionate about promoting residents’ independence and empowering them to maintain their skills, confidence, and choice in their daily lives. She takes pride in providing person-centred care that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing, helping residents to feel valued, supported, and comfortable in their home.

Alanna starting caring when she looked after her mum and after she could see the difference her care made to those with health issues she started working in the community before joining the team at Almond Valley. Alanna finds it rewarding making a difference to someones day.

Rachel has worked in care for just under a year and was inspred by her mum who worked in the care industry. Rachel enjoyes making those around her smile and helping them with everyday daily actvites ensuring they thrive through their own independence.

Shannon has been a carer for over a year now and loves nothing more than seeing others happy and supporting them with all daily aspects of their life.

Kayleigh has worked in care for over a year and is passionate about providing care and support to the elderly.

Eryn-Jo has just started out on her career as a care assistant. She enjoys helping others and making a difference to their day.

Jacqueline has over 15 years’ experience working as a domestic assistant, including the past 10 years in a supervisory role. She has worked across a range of settings, including hospitals and hotels, where she has consistently maintained high standards of cleanliness. She was previously training to be a microbiologist however chose to return to her domestic duties. Throughout her career, Jacqueline has developed strong skills in cleaning, housekeeping, and organisation. Her experience in hospital environments has also given her valuable insight into supporting residents and working to care-focused standards.

Justyna brings over 15 years of experience working as a domestic assistant across a variety of settings, including hotels, serviced apartments and private residences. Throughout her career, she has developed strong cleaning, housekeeping and organisation skills, consistently maintaining high standards of cleanliness. In addition to her domestic background, Justyna also has experience within a care home environment whilst living in London, she spent six months working as a Care Assistant, gaining valuable insight into supporting residents and working within care-focused standards. This combination of long-standing domestic experience and care environment exposure makes Justyna a valuable addition to the team.

Gail brings an exceptional wealth of experience to her role, having worked as a chef for 45 years, with over 30 of those years spent within the care home setting. Throughout her career, she has developed a deep understanding of the importance of nutrition, dietary needs, and mealtimes as a vital part of residents’ wellbeing. Gail is passionate about ensuring residents receive healthy, nutritious, and well-balanced meals that are both enjoyable and tailored to individual needs. She takes great pride in the quality of food she prepares and understands the role good nutrition plays in supporting health and quality of life. Gail also specialises in baking, something she truly enjoys, and her homemade bakes are always popular with residents, bringing comfort, enjoyment, and a homely feel to mealtimes.

Robert has over 25 years’ experience as a chef and has spent the last 7 years working within care home environments. His career spans to both care homes and restaurant settings, giving him a broad and wellrounded understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and presentation. Robert has a strong knowledge of dietary requirements and understands the importance of meeting individual nutritional needs, including modified diets and food fortification to support residents’ health and wellbeing. He is passionate about ensuring residents receive healthy, well-balanced meals that are both nourishing and enjoyable.

Robert enjoys involving residents in menu planning, helping create inclusive menus catered to everyone, ensuring mealtimes are a positive, personalised, and social experience

Dawn brings over 40 years of experience as a hairdresser, having worked across a variety of salon environments throughout her career. After retiring from hairdressing to focus on raising her children, Dawn recently rediscovered her passion for the profession and joined the team at Almond Valley Care Home around a year ago.

Dawn thoroughly enjoys the social and personal side of her role, taking the time to build positive relationships with residents and make every visit to the salon a relaxed and enjoyable experience. She gains great satisfaction from helping residents look and feel their best, understanding the positive impact this has on their confidence, self esteem, and overall wellbeing.
