A Busy Spring So Far at Almond Valley

March has been a lovely month here at Almond Valley, full of special moments, familiar faces, and a few new friends too. As the days get a little longer and the first signs of spring appear, our residents have been enjoying everything from birthday cake to puppy cuddles.

One of the highlights was celebrating Marjorie’s 100th birthday, it was a truly fabulous day! Family, friends and fellow residents came together for a strawberry-themed party, complete with singing, dancing and lots of laughs. It was a real pleasure to mark such a significant milestone with her.

We’ve also been getting stuck into a brand-new community gardening project with Crofthead Farm. The plan is to support each other throughout the year, and our residents are already looking forward to planting, potting and spending more time outdoors. It’s a lovely way to meet new people and share something meaningful together.

March gave us plenty of reasons to celebrate, including St Patrick’s Day which saw the home filled with Irish music, fancy dress and an afternoon of food tasting that brought back lots of fond memories. For Mother’s Day, we transformed our café into a daffodil-themed tea room, where residents and their families enjoyed tea, cake and a fun quiz in honour of the mums and grandmothers we hold dear.

And perhaps the most adorable update of all – we’ve welcomed a new furry visitor! Teddy, a 12-week-old puppy, has been making the rounds for cuddles and playtime, and he’s already a firm favourite with everyone.

Last but not least, we’re delighted to say we now have our very own minibus. Our residents are already chatting about places they’d like to visit, and we’re so looking forward to heading out on trips together soon.

As always, it’s the little things, those shared stories, laughs, and time with friends, that make life at Almond Valley so special. If you’re considering care for yourself or a loved one, why not pop in for a chat?
We’d love to welcome you, show you around and share more of what life is like here at Almond Valley.
