An Unforgettable Day On The Water

What an amazing experience! Our residents had an unforgettable day out on the water with Wetwheels, enjoying plenty of excitement, fresh air and some very happy faces along the way. A huge thank you to Karen and her wonderful team for making the day so special. From start to finish, it was a brilliant experience and our residents loved every minute of it.

Days like this are an important part of life at Almond Valley Care Home. Getting out and about gives residents the opportunity to enjoy new experiences, spend time in the community and simply have fun. Research has also highlighted the benefits of outdoor activities for older people, including positive effects on wellbeing, social interaction and a sense of independence. 

At Almond Valley in Livingston, person-centred care means getting to know each resident as an individual and supporting the things that matter to them. Our approach encourages residents to maintain their interests, try new things and enjoy fulfilling days. 

The Wetwheels trip was a perfect example of this in action. A day filled with fresh air, laughter and a little bit of speed made for memories our residents will be talking about for a long time.
