Celebrating Our 1st Anniversary with a Joyous Open Day

Almond Valley Care Home proudly marked its first anniversary on September 24, 2025, celebrating a successful year of exceptional care and community engagement. Since its opening, the care home has quickly become a cornerstone of compassionate and personalised care in the region, offering an array of services including residential, nursing, respite, and dementia care.
To commemorate this significant milestone, Almond Valley hosted a lively open day celebration, bringing together residents, families, staff, and the local community for an afternoon of fun, reflection, and connection. The event was made even more special by the presence of the Lord Provost of West Lothian, Cathy Muldoon, who performed the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolising the home's official launch one year ago.
In her speech, Lord Provost Muldoon praised the dedication and hard work of the Almond Valley team, acknowledging the positive impact they have made on the lives of their residents and the wider community. She described the care home as "a valued and cherished part of the local area," emphasising its role in enriching the lives of those it serves.
The open day festivities featured an array of entertainment and delightful experiences for all guests. Attendees were treated to a delectable traditional High Tea buffet, lovingly crafted by Almond Valley's in-house chefs, accompanied by glasses of sparkling Prosecco served at the home's chic Champagne bar. The atmosphere was further lifted by a dynamic performance from Gary Coupland, beloved as the ‘Music Man’ from the iconic children’s show The Singing Kettle. His timeless melodies and engaging performance had everyone, from young children to older guests, singing along and smiling with joy.
Home Manager Maggie Allison shared her thoughts on the celebration: "It was a wonderful day, and I felt truly honoured to celebrate our first anniversary alongside our residents, families, and dedicated staff. The energy in the room was filled with love, laughter, and warmth, which really speaks to the strong connections we’ve fostered over the past year. Celebrating both our first birthday and our official opening was a very special moment, and I couldn’t be prouder of the home we’ve built together. Our residents truly do live enriched, fulfilling lives here, and that’s what makes every day at Almond Valley so rewarding."
Looking ahead, the team at Almond Valley Care Home remains committed to offering exceptional care and support for the elderly, continuing to foster a welcoming environment for both residents and their families. With a strong foundation built on trust, professionalism, and heart, Almond Valley looks forward to serving the Livingston community for many years to come.
