On May 30th, Almond Valley Care Home took part in the highly anticipated CCG Highland Games at Manor Grange, and we are delighted to report a resounding success! This fun-filled event brought together nine care homes for a day of exciting activities that promoted social, physical, and mental wellbeing for our older generation.

The Highland Games were packed with a variety of engaging and competitive events, including the haggis toss, axe throwing, whisky tumbler stacking, stone rolling, and the ever-popular hook-a-duck. These activities not only encouraged friendly competition, but also fostered teamwork and a true sense of achievement among participants.

One of the key highlights of the day was the opportunity for residents to engage with others from different care homes, building new friendships and strengthening inter-care home relationships. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together in a vibrant and supportive atmosphere, where camaraderie and fun were at the forefront.

The event was a fantastic reminder of the importance of staying active, both physically and socially, as we age. Almond Valley Care Home is proud to have been part of such a wonderful occasion, and we look forward to future events that continue to promote wellbeing and make lasting memories for our residents.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the organisers and all the care homes involved for making this day truly special. Here's to many more events that inspire connection, health, and happiness for our older generation!
